Earth Data Profile Earth Data Limited specialises in the research, design and manufacture of data acquisition, telemetry and recording systems for use in the scientific, industrial and medical fields. Formed in 1981, the companys’ first product range was the 9690 Seismic System, a range that utilised digital technology to replace existing FM based analogue systems. The company expanded its product range by developing a range of digital general-purpose multi-channel instrumentation recorders, which proved to be very popular in the automotive and transportation industry. Over the years, Earth Data has earned a strong world-wide reputation for designing highly technical products, whilst still keeping a focus on reliability. Then technically advanced, many of the recorders installed in 1986 are still in operation today. The successful 2400 series was Earth Data’s first true 24-bit resolution system, developed to meet the requirements of seismological organisations around the world. This has now been superceded by the 6-24 series which provides a 24-bit, 6 channel capability combined with dynamic range in excess of 140 dB. The 6-24 System has been complemented by the release of a ruggedised portable seismic recorder, intended for seismic profiling and rapid deployment in earthquake zones. The PR 6-24 unit utilises the 24-bit technology of the 6-24 System, and is intended for a wide variety of applications, including those where mobility is the important factor.
