The PDA-96 is a Portable Rugged Workstation incorporating
a Geode 586 300 MHz PC104 CPU, 10.4" TFT LCD Display offering 1024 x 768 pixel resolution.
The display has been designed for wide adjustment in viewing
angle from the vertical, with concealed wiring for display
and manual brightness control.
The PC104 format SBC, ADC Modules together with Hard Disk
Drive and USB and Flash memory module are vibration mounted
and incorporated beneath the top panel
On the surface of the top panel, connector sockets for
96 Analogue channels, a parallel printer, power, external
mouse and LAN Ethernet are provided. The FDD is also located
on the top panel. A keyboard with integrated tracker ball
is located in a well, situated within the workstation
together with connections for external VGA and serial
communications. LEDs for Power indication and HDD activity
are easily visible.
The PDA 96 System is enclosed in an injection moulded
ABS plastic alloy protective case to shield against shock,
impact and sealed to protect from the elements of water
dust and other contaminants.
To enhance the input range of the PDA-96 and External
X 5 Attenuator Module is available
Data is acquired and viewed using Kenda's Optimal Software
running under Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP. Raw data can
be exported in ASCII ('.csv') format for use in other
industry standard analysis packages. Data can be retrieved
via USB or Ethernet, in addition, the removable HDD can
be directly connected to a PC using the Kenda HDD Docking
Station, employing an industry standard 'Fire wire' (IEEE
1394) interface.
