Kenda wins CHP billing systems contract from
Rolls-Royce Power Ventures
Southampton-based Kenda Electronic Systems has been awarded a contract from Rolls-Royce Power Ventures (RRPV) to supply a billing system for the Derby CoGen CHP plant. RRPV is a joint venture between Rolls-Royce and National Power.
Utilising a Rolls-Royce Trent gas turbine generator, the CHP plant supplies electricity and steam to Rolls-Royce's Derby aero engine site and also exports electricity to National Power.
The Kenda billing system will include a remote collector station based at the London offices of RRPV, linked via modem to a 32-channel Meteordata-collection outstation at the plant.
In addition, Kenda will be supplying bespoke billing software for producing bills against the contracts that Derby CoGen has with both Rolls-Royce and National Power. As well as taking into account the various commercial terms of these contracts, the software will allow for daily fluctuations in electricity pool prices.
