Kenda supplies metering equipment for Immingham CHP plant
The tariff metering system for the new PowerGen CHP plant
at Conoco's Immingham refinery was designed, manufactured and commissioned
by Southampton-based Kenda
Electronic Systems Ltd.
The company supplied all the metering
and data-collection panels, an ancillary
panel housing flow computer and gas chromatograph controller equipment
and a PC-based local collector station with proprietary Kenda software.
Based on Kenda's successful Meteor
range of equipment, the data collectors calculate and store scaled values
for each input integrated over the specified demand period (normally 30 minutes).
The system's software then performs calculations on the collected metering data
to provide total values and costs for billing purposes.
All design, manufacturing and testing of the tariff metering system was carried
out under Kenda's rigorous BS EN ISO 9001 quality system.
This latest installation follows the successful implementation of Kenda metering
data-collection systems at the Kemsley Mill and Iggesund CHP plants.
Kenda systems are also in use at hundreds of other sites throughout the UK
electricity supply industry, with equipment having been supplied to all of the
major power companies and to the National Grid Company as part of the Final Metering Scheme.
