Kenda wins contract for meter maintenance at Nuclear Electric's
power stations
Southampton-based Kenda Electronic
Systems has been awarded a contract to provide total care and maintenance
of the Settlement Metering Systems at all
six power stations operated by Nuclear Electric Ltd.
Installed in the early 1990s as part of the Final Metering
Scheme, the meters have to have regular accuracy and calibration checks,
as stipulated in Settlements Code of Practice 4.
The contract covers on-site calibration checks and fault finding, as
well as full laboratory calibration of the meters. In addition, Kenda will
be responsible for maintaining the voltage failure alarm relays at each site
and the Meteor data collection outstations that the company supplied to
Nuclear Electric for FMS.
Kenda provides rapid on-site response, 24-hour telephone support and also
has the facility to collect data remotely, enabling
it to carry out initial fault-finding work from its headquarters in Southampton.
Maintenance and calibration records for the Nuclear Electric meters will be stored
by Kenda on a computer-based relational database, providing complete and
detailed traceability of all movements, calibrations, changes and firmware modifications.
