OMR manufacturer Chatsworth Data appoints Kendata as UK distributor
Southampton-based data-entry specialist Kendata
Peripherals Ltd has been appointed by US firm Chatsworth
Data Corporation as exclusive UK distributor for the company's
range of optical mark readers
(OMRs) for all markets outside of the school sector.
Located in Chatsworth, California, the OMR manufacturer was
formed in 1971 and has since supplied over 100,000 readers throughout
the world for a wide variety of data-entry applications.
Commenting on the deal, Kendata's product marketing manager,
Ken Fletcher, said: We needed a reliable, low-cost range of card
readers to complete our product portfolio, and we are delighted
that we can now offer Chatsworth's well-proven technology to
our customer base.
Kendata will be primarily targeting applications in further
and higher education, healthcare, catering, utilities, the MoD
and local authorities.
Chatsworth's vice president Frank Lefkowitz said: "We have
been dealing directly with the UK market for some time but this
is not without its difficulties, so we are pleased to have signed
up Kendata Peripherals, which is well established as a distributor
of OMRs in the UK."
