Kenda wins series of contracts to upgrade tariff metering systems for RWE npower
Meter care specialist Kenda Electronic Systems has recently
been awarded a series of three contracts by RWE npower to upgrade the tariff
metering systems at its Cowes, Tilbury and Fawley power stations.
At Cowes, the recent installation of an additional circuit and
other plant upgrades provided an opportunity for Kenda to supply a complete
tariff metering cubicle, comprising main and check meters, a Kenda Meteor
32-channel outstation and all other cubicle components and wiring.
|
In addition to the design, manufacture, QA, testing, delivery
and site commissioning of the tariff metering panel, the contract also included
the necessary meter compensation calculations.
Following on from the Cowes upgrade, Kenda was then awarded the
contracts for Tilbury and Fawley. Both sites are scheduled to have additional
circuits installed during 2006 and, as part of this process, Kenda will be
installing new meters, additional components and wiring. These contracts also
covered meter compensation calculations.
|
All three metering-system upgrades comply with the requirements of
the Balancing and Settlement Code Procedures and the relevant metering Codes of
Practice.
Kenda was awarded the contracts because of the strength of its
technical and commercial proposals, coupled with the company's long track record
in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of metering data collection
systems for the electricity-supply industry.
